Overview
Mastik ("we", "us", "our") provides a free web tool that lets you download publicly available TikTok videos, audio, and slideshows. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use mastik.io, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect very little personal data. When you submit a TikTok link, we process the URL you paste in order to fetch a downloadable file. We also automatically receive standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and approximate location (derived from IP), which is used for security, analytics, and serving relevant ads. We do not require you to create an account and we do not ask for your name, email, or payment details to use the downloader.
Downloaded content is not stored
Mastik does not keep a copy of the videos, audio, or images you download. Your link is passed to a third-party media resolution API (such as tikwm.com) which generates a temporary, direct download link; the file streams from that source to your device. We do not maintain a library or archive of TikTok content on our own servers.
Third-party services
We rely on third-party providers to operate the site, including TikTok's public content endpoints and third-party extraction APIs (for example tikwm.com) to resolve download links, hosting and content-delivery providers, and analytics tools. These providers may process technical data (such as IP address and request metadata) under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.
Cookies and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies to remember basic preferences (such as your selected language) and to support advertising. Mastik is ad-supported and displays ads served by Adsterra and its advertising partners, and uses Monetag as a push-notification advertising partner. These partners may use cookies, device identifiers, push subscriptions, or similar technologies to serve ads, measure performance, and, where permitted, personalize ads based on your browsing activity across sites. We only load these advertising and analytics technologies after you accept cookies via our consent banner. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, unsubscribe from push notifications at any time, and many ad networks offer opt-out tools for personalized advertising.
Legal basis and data retention
Where GDPR applies, we process technical and log data on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving the service, and rely on consent for non-essential cookies where required. Server logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security and troubleshooting and are then deleted or anonymized.
Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export data we hold about you, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Because we collect minimal personal data and do not create user accounts, most requests relate to cookie and advertising data. Children's privacy
Mastik is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by local law) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
