Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of mastik.io and the Mastik tools (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Description of the service
Mastik is a free, browser-based toolkit that lets you convert, compress, and edit your own video and audio files — converting between formats, compressing clips, making GIFs, extracting audio, and trimming or muting video — entirely on your own device. The Service is offered for personal, non-commercial convenience and is provided "as is", with no guarantee of availability or fitness for any particular purpose.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not use Mastik to process, distribute, or reproduce content that infringes someone else's copyright or other intellectual property rights, to bypass security measures, to distribute malware, or to violate any applicable law or the rights of any third party. You are solely responsible for how you use any content you process through the Service.
Only process content you have rights to
You may only use these tools on files that you own, that you have express permission to edit, or that are clearly licensed for such use (for example your own recordings and footage). Editing or reusing copyrighted content without authorization may violate the rights of the original creator and applicable copyright law. Mastik does not review, endorse, or verify the rights status of any file processed through the Service, and you assume all responsibility and risk for the files you use.
Trademarks
Any third-party product names, file formats, or trademarks referenced on the site are the property of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility. Mastik is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of these third parties.
Advertising and third-party links
The Service is supported by advertising, including ads served through Google AdSense. We may also link to or rely on third-party APIs and websites to operate the Service. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party advertisers, links, or services.
No warranty
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mastik and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us to use it, which, given the Service is free, shall be deemed zero.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mastik and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Changes to the service and terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
